Sec. 134-66. Traffic violations bureau created.
(a) The court administrator may establish a traffic violations bureau to assist the court with the clerical work of traffic cases. The bureau shall be in charge of such person and shall be open on such days, excluding Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays, and at such hours as the presiding judge may designate.
(b) The presiding judge shall designate the traffic regulations for violation of which payments of fines may be accepted by the traffic violations bureau and shall specify by suitable schedules the amount of such fines for first, second, or subsequent offenses, provided such fines are within the limits provided by law, and shall further specify what number of such offenses shall require an appearance before the municipal judge.
(c) Except as otherwise provided in this chapter, any municipal judge is authorized to suspend the payment of any costs or fine or penalty and to remit any costs or fine or penalty assessed for any violation of any provision of this chapter, and to suspend any jail sentence imposed for a violation of any provision of this chapter.
