(a) It shall be unlawful for any person, other than a peace officer or firefighter of the City, to wear the uniform apparel or any other insignia of office like or similar to or a colorable imitation of that adopted and worn by the peace officers or firefighters of the City.

(b) A person who falsely pretends to be a firefighter and performs an act in that pretended capacity commits impersonating a firefighter.

(c) It shall be unlawful for any person to falsely pretend to be a public servant other than a peace officer and perform any act in that pretended capacity. It shall be no defense to a prosecution under this section that the office the actor pretended to hold did not in fact exist. (Code 1979, § 27-23; Ord. No. 2009-59, § 1, 1-11-2010; Ord.
