Sec. 82-28. Functions and duties.
This section is included in your selections.
The functions and duties of the human relations commission shall include but not be limited to:
(1) Providing the city council with information concerning changing social conditions.
(2) Reviewing for accountability those external human service agencies that receive funds from the City.
(3) Working toward solving social problems and improving social conditions.
(4) Hearing complaints of alleged discrimination.
(5) Developing and implementing educational programs.
(6) Submitting reports of the various activities undertaken by the commission.
(7) Adopting, amending, publishing and rescinding bylaws regarding the operation of this commission consistent with the authority and duties outlined in this section. (Code 1979, § 8-241)
