The following standards for building design are intended to promote a pedestrian-friendly street edge and scale to buildings. New buildings shall implement building and roof articulation methods to avoid long, flat walls and provide visual interest in architecture. High quality materials are encouraged to enhance the architectural character and promote overall building longevity. Buildings shall respond to context with a hierarchy of façade design. Residential design standards are intended to provide durable and well-designed homes that can be easily maintained by the homeowner and add to the quality of the City as a whole. (Ord.
