(a) Commencing January 1, 2019, any licensee whose business has 75 rooms or more shall be assessed a destination marketing improvement fee of $2.00 per room per night. Any room night that is not the provision of lodging but is a residential stay as outlined in subsection 130-364(1) shall be exempted from this fee.

(b) Amounts collected by the city through this fee, less reasonable collection costs, shall be remitted to the visitor's promotion program for the purpose of increasing sales, advertising and marketing for hotel facilities, and to promote the City as an overall quality destination for shopping, dining, lodging, and other related activities.
