All petitions for the nomination of candidates for municipal office that are in apparent conformity with the provisions of section 54-32, as determined by the city clerk, are valid unless objection thereto is duly made in writing within three business days after their filing. If an objection is made, notice thereof shall be given to any candidate who may be affected. The city clerk shall determine the validity of objections not later than 48 hours after they are filed. Any objections sustained may be remedied or defect cured upon the original petition by an amendment thereto, or by filing a new petition within three business days after such objection is sustained, but in no event later than the 64th day before the day of election. The city clerk shall determine the validity of all objections and such decision shall be final, subject only to judicial review. (Ord. No. 2016-35, § 5, 8-8-2016)
