The city marshal shall be responsible for and is hereby authorized to perform the following functions and duties:

(1) Serve and execute within the City, arrest warrants, subpoenas, summonses, show cause orders, and all other legal processes issued by the municipal court;

(2) Provide security for and keep the peace within the municipal justice center and the property upon which it is located;

(3) Conduct investigative work relative to locating individuals named in legal process issued by the municipal court;

(4) Transport and detain city prisoners to and from the municipal court and the lawful place of detention for such prisoners;

(5) Perform such other duties as assigned from time to time by the court administrator; and

(6) Notwithstanding any other provision in this section, no marshal shall be authorized to execute any municipal arrest warrant outside of the premises of the municipal justice center, unless and until such marshal is P.O.S.T. certified. (Ord. No. 2005-12, § 76, 4-11-2005)
