The art in public places commission shall continually review public art policies from other municipalities and governmental entities in the United States, shall consider the particular needs and interests of the city and its citizens, shall obtain input from interested organizations and individuals, and shall maintain a detailed public arts policy approved in accordance with the prevailing city policy. Such policy shall address funding mechanisms, art selection criteria, artist selection criteria, site selection criteria, display guidelines, maintenance and repair policies, and all other relevant issues. In addition, the commission shall include guidelines for the ongoing operation of the commission as primary resource for the development and arbiter for the selection of public art in the City.
