(a) The forestry division of the parks and open space department, prior to granting a tree trimmer's license, shall first collect from the applicant annually a license fee. The license, when issued, shall show upon its face the name of the applicant, the applicant's business address, the date of issue, the fact the license fee has been paid, and the fact that the license entitled the licensee to engage in the business within the City of cutting, trimming, pruning or removing trees and shrubs. Thereafter, the licensee shall pay an annual license fee on a calendar-year basis. The annual fee for the tree trimmer's license shall be established by the director of parks and open space in accordance with the provisions of section 2-587 of this Code.

(b) The licensee shall pay an annual arborist license fee on a calendar-year basis. The annual fee for the arborist's license shall be established by the director of parks and open space in accordance with the provisions of section 2-587 of this Code.

(c) The licensee shall maintain a valid business license in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the tax and licensing division in the finance department. No additional license fee shall be assessed to tree trimmers licensed under this chapter in accordance with chapter 86, article III. Tree trimmers must provide a valid copy of their arborist license to waive the business license fee.
