The International Existing Building Code, 2021 Edition, first printing December 2020, published by the International Code Council, and referenced standards attached thereto, referred to in this article as the "IEBC," is adopted with the amendments and resources as set forth in this article. Copies of the IEBC are available for inspection at the offices of the city clerk, the city attorney, and the chief building official. The IEBC is intended to encourage the use and reuse of existing buildings while requiring reasonable upgrades and improvements.

Section 101.1 of the existing building code adopted in section 22-341 is deleted in its entirety and amended to read as follows:

These regulations shall be known as the Existing Building Code of the City of Aurora, hereinafter referred to as "this code."
