The International Building Code, 2021 Edition, first printing, dated October 2020, published by the International Code Council, Inc., including appendix chapters C, E, I, is hereby adopted, except as amended in this chapter. The International Building Code is dedicated to the development of better building construction and greater safety to the public by uniformity in building laws, and not less than three copies of the code are on file at the offices of the city clerk, the city attorney, and the chief building official, and open to inspection by the public at reasonable times. Where the abbreviation "IBC" appears in this article, this shall mean the International Building Code, 2021 Edition. Where the abbreviation "IRC" appears in this article, this shall mean the International Residential Code, 2021 Edition. Where the abbreviation "IPC" appears in this article, this shall mean the International Plumbing Code, 2021 Edition. Where the abbreviation "IMC" appears in this article, this shall mean the International Mechanical Code, 2021 Edition. Where the abbreviation "IFGC" appears in this article, this shall mean the International Fuel Gas Code, 2021 Edition. Where the abbreviation "IECC" appears in this article, this shall mean the International Energy Conservation Code, 2021 Edition. Where the abbreviation "IEBC" appears in this article, this shall mean the International Existing Building Code, 2021 Edition.
