(a) Time period. Certificates of qualification issued under this division shall be renewed every three years from the date of original issuance. The building division shall have the authority to authorize the renewal and reissuance of a certificate, and the certificate holder shall not be required to take the examination, provided the certificate holder has been actively engaged as a qualified supervisor in the particular category for which the certificate was issued during the three-year period from the date of issuance.
