(a) The commission for older adults shall consist of no less than seven and no greater than nine members who shall be registered electors, holding no paid or elected or appointed position with the city or any board of education. The commission shall consist of adult citizens, the majority of whom shall be 55 years of age or older, and concerned with the needs of older adults with consideration given to their contribution and interest in older adult concerns.

(b) Removal of and compensation for members shall be as provided in Charter section 9-1.

(c) All members shall serve without compensation, but shall be reimbursed for all necessary expenses incurred in the discharge of their official duties.

(d) City employees holding the offices of city manager, director of community development and director of parks and open spaces or their designees shall be ex officio nonvoting members of the commission.

(e) No person may serve more than two consecutive terms of three years each.

(f) All members who have served two successive terms are eligible to become nonvoting ad hoc members for no more than three additional years. (Code 1979, § 8-142; Ord.
