The city attorney shall be charged with the performance of all legal services for the City, including those of legal advisor to the council, the city manager, all city department heads and city officers. The attorney shall represent the City in all litigation and shall prosecute violations of this Code under the jurisdiction of the municipal court. The attorney shall be responsible for the form of all legal documents to which the City is a party and his or her approval shall be noted thereon. (Code 1979, § 21-1)
