For purposes of this article, any judge of the municipal court, upon the application of the finance director, may compel the attendance of witnesses, the production of books, papers, records or memoranda, and the giving of testimony before the finance director by an attachment for contempt or otherwise, in the same manner as the production of evidence may be compelled before the court. (Code 1979, § 36-30)
